The Kinsol Trestle is one of eight trestles along the Cowichan Valley Trail route and by far the largest and most spectacular. The Kinsol Trestle is one of the tallest free-standing and most spectacular timber rail trestle structures in the world. At 187 meters in length and standing 44 meters above the salmon bearing Koksilah River, the Kinsol is an incredible structure.

Abstract photography is a relatively unknown genre for me but I must say I am quite pleased with my first attempt. These images were created in an ancient Maple Grove on Southern Vancouver Island. I can’t disclose the location nor the name of the individual that informed me as to the location. Locations such as these are disappearing too quickly due to industrial activities.
