My friend Pavel Novy and I had a great time exploring all the waterfalls along Nile Creek. This area is truly a hidden gem on Vancouver Island, especially after heavy rain! If you want to know more about the area and how best to access it, feel free to contact me at martin@mryer.com

My 2019 calendar is headed in your direction! Iconic British Columbia wildlife at it’s finest! Stay tuned to hear more about the incredible organization that I will be supporting this year and details for advanced orders.

I am happy to support MARS – Wildlife Rescue Center by donating an Eagle image for their upcoming silent auction on October 25th at the Prime Chop House in Courtenay. You can call 1-250-337-2021 for details and reservations. 100% of proceeds from the auction of my image will go to support MARS and their efforts. marswildliferescue.com

“Loose hips, save ships.” A quote from Frank Witter, expert Sea Kayak Guide and Owner / Operator at Hello Nature Adventure Tours – hellonature.ca  Frank of course was referring to remaining flexible and not becoming tense when encountering unfavorable conditions while sea kayaking. Expert advice, no doubt.  On July 18th, I had the distinct honor and privilege to be invited by Kevin Bradshaw from Hello Nature Adventure Tours to spend the day with… Read More

I’ll be “on assignment” later this month for the day with Hello Nature Adventure Tours. Ucluelet, Tofino, Broken Group Islands, Barkley and Clayoquot Sounds are amazing and some of my favorite places ever! I’m excited to create some awesome images for this company. https://hellonature.ca/

My dear friends Eric Boyum and Trish Boyum from Ocean Adventures have invited me to work with them on their vessel, The Great Bear II in mid May as they take guests on an 8 day tour called “Inlets of the Grizzly / Great Bear Rainforest.” In 2011 I first met Eric and Trish and traveled to “The GBR” as their guest. It was an incredible… Read More

…a throwback to 2011 when I first visited “The Great Bear Rainforest.” My love and support always to “The Gitga’at Nation” and any efforts that help to protect your territory. We beat Enbridge and Northern Gateway and we will protect the rest of the coast too!

I’m convinced that my friend, colleague and co-producer Paul Novy held back an expletive or two but we finally settled on the poster for our film. This is 95% Paul’s design and I think it’s exceptional! Thank you to those I reached out to for your thoughts as well.
